Kya Publishing Announces Location for the 2017 Toronto Urban Book Expo

TORONTO, ONT (February 2017) - Toronto publishing company Kya Publishing has just announced the location for the 4th annual Toronto Urban Book Expo (TUBE) taking place on Sunday, August 6, 2017: The Toronto Centre for the Arts (5040 Yonge Street at Sheppard Avenue).

TUBE, previously held during Black History Month at the Toronto Public Library, is the only Canadian event dedicated to celebrating urban fiction and culture. This event, now taking place during the Simcoe Day holiday weekend in Ontario, will feature published and independent writers selling their books at a free and family-friendly book fair. Live hip hop, R&B, reggae, and soca music will once again be provided by DJ Majesty.

Kya Publishing, a boutique publishing and communications company, promotes and celebrates contemporary urban literature and culture through their books, research, events, and community initiatives. The annual Book Expo was established in 2014 in support of independent authors, and to increase urban literacy through familiar texts and cultural subject matter.

"The [Toronto Public Library] North York Central branch is under construction this year, so we've moved our event across the street to the beautiful Toronto Centre for the Arts," said Kya Publishing founder Stacey Marie Robinson. "This venue is a great home for arts in North York, and we are excited to be able to bring urban literature to this creative space. We look forward to inviting both local and international authors to celebrate in this location with us."

Registration details and sponsorship/information packages for #TUBE2017 will be available to the public in April 2017; a complete listing of featured authors will be announced in July.
